Lady Antebellum Celebrates A Million Fans And Dave Haywood’s Birthday

It’s been a big week for Lady Antbellem. The group released a new video for “Wanted You More” last Friday, and this past weekend, they wrapped up the North American portion of their Own the Night Tour (which is now heading to Europe and Australia).

News came this weekend, too, that they’d now performed to more than a million fans (so far) since the tour began last fall. “We’ve definitely become closer as a band – musically and personally,” said Dave Haywood about the tour. “We are really proud of our show and how much we’ve grown on stage.”

And speaking of Dave Haywood, another cause for celebration comes today (July 5), as Dave turns 30 years old.

To honor his three decades on the planet, his bandmates wished him a happy birthday via Twitter this morning, calling him an “incredible music man.” The tweet included a great instagram shot of Dave on stage (that photo also showed up on Lady A’s page on Pinterest).

To further celebrate the band’s achievements (and the birthday of the now thirtysomething Dave), CBS Charlotte station WSOC create a “30 Shining Moments” photo gallery.

We’ve put together a group of Lady Antebellum’s top five love songs (since Dave is, after all, still a newlywed).

You can watch the five videos below.

“Need You Now”

Not necessarily the happiest of love songs but let’s start with the no brainer. “Need You Now” really solidified their place in Country music as well as becoming a huge crossover hit for the trio. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Hot Adult Contemporary chart. We love this song/video… we’ve all been there right? Giving in to the temptation to call after a night of drinking.

“Just A Kiss”

It’s like the M. Night Shyamalan of music videos with a young, beautiful girl on a train reminiscing about a love affair (via iPad ) she just left behind, but all isn’t what it seems. It was all a dream and she wakes to that same love interest sitting next to her on the train saying, “I’m sorry, have we meet before?” as he pulls out an iPad. Whoa, mind blown!

“Dancing Away With My Heart”

According to Entertainment Weekly“Dancing Away With My Heart” was one single Lady A was particularly excited about leading up to the release of their latest album Own The Night. We would have to agree with the trio. We love the how personal the video is, kicking off with the trio thinking back on their first dance. Shot in black and white, the video for “Dancing Away With My Heart” is made up of live performance shots and backstage footage.

“We Owned The Night”

“We Owned The Night” take place with downtown Nashville as a backdrop and under a shower of fireworks, Lady A and a group of very attractive young people dancing, some even making out. It’s a beautifully shot video and a beautiful song of love lost but not forgotten.

“Our Kind Of Love”

Unlike a lot of Lady A love songs, this one is an up beat love song about young love with the trio performing where carnival rides go to die.
